Dear Friends,
We love sharing success stories about Alpha Home — especially with people like you who are connected with Alpha Home on a personal level.
Meet Sofia. Her sobriety date is October 27, 2007. She dabbled with drugs and alcohol since the age of 15. She became a mom of two boys at a young age. At 28 she tried crack cocaine and was immediately hooked. Two years later, she dropped off her two sons, ages 6 and 11, with their father and never looked back.
“I abandoned my kids. I was living on the streets in another state and I got involved with a rough crowd. I got beaten badly and was left on the side of the road. A little old man named Fred found me and was able to get enough information from me that he got me a bus ticket and sent me back home. He said, ‘Don’t ever look back. You need to get on this bus and keep going or you are going to die.’ At that moment, I decided to do things differently this time. I went to Alpha Home. Alpha Home gave me a foundation and the tools I needed for sobriety. I found God at Alpha Home. I found compassion and understanding. Alpha Home also taught me how to talk to my kids and help me mend my relationships with my sons. This place saved my life. If it wasn’t for Alpha Home I wouldn’t have the life I have today . I got remarried in sobriety and we had a little girl. I get to be engaged in my child’s life today. I know my daughter’s likes, dislikes, and her facial expressions; I can tell you anything about her and this is completely different than before. They say if you stay sober your deepest desires will come to life. This is true and I am the best mom to my daughter and two sons today because of it. This is what makes me the happiest.”
Because of your support, Sofia was able to get sober, mend her relationships with her sons and be the mom that she always dreamed of being for all her children.
Please consider a gift to Alpha Home. Know that you are helping individuals just like Sofia restore their lives.
Sincerely,
Nangie Lowrie
